Welcome to Riplington Parson Russell Terriers

*** NEWSFLASH - LATEST WINS***

April 2012

National Terrier
was held on Easter Saturday (7th April)
and the breed was judged by Kevin Moore (Moonreapers). Dot (Riplington Black Cherry)
won Puppy Bitch and Fen (Riplington Blackberry)
won Junior Bitch.
Dot then went on to be awarded
Best Puppy and followed it up with 3rd Best
Puppy in Show (judged by Ferelith Somerfield).
A truly amazing few months of
shows for both girls.
Thanks to all the judges who have thought so
highly of the two sisters and also thanks to
Kate and Matt Smith, and
Michaela Moon for letting us use Brody
(Ch Alncroft Blackthorn) as well
as having Cola originally.

The 18th March saw us attending an
Open Show - Herts & Essex
Border Canine Society where we entered AVNSC
(Terrier) under Tan Nagrecha.
On this occasion it was Dot who took the
higher honours and sent us home with very big smiles.
She won junior bitch, and then Best Puppy.
She then followed this up with Puppy Group 1
(under the same judge)
and then Best Puppy in Show
(judged by Steven Seymour of the Beagriff affix).
Fen also won puppy bitch so we really couldn't have
asked for a better day.

February 2012
On 4th Feb we went to the
Isle of Ely Canine Society Open show. Our
breed did not have classes so we entered AVNSC (Terrier) under judge Prof. Anthony Milton
who also judged the terrier groups.
Both girls again went well, Fen won puppy bitch
and Dot also won Junior Bitch. Fen went on to be
awarded BP and BOB, as well as then
progressing to Terrier Puppy Group 2!

January 2012.
Dot (Riplington Black Cherry), Fen
(Riplington Blackberry) and Tag
(Riplington Black Pepper) ,
our most recent homebred puppies
(Ch Alncroft Blackthorn (Brodie)
x Ch Ancroft Tribute to Riplington
(Cola)), started their show career.
At Boston Open Show (8 Jan) under
judge David Mitchell
the trio achieved two firsts and a second at just
the tender age of six months.
Their dad (Brodie, owned and bred by
Katie Smith and Michaela Moon)
was awarded RBD so it was a very
successful day for the whole family.
Tag will be living with Kate, and her family, from
the Alncroft Kennel and we wish
them every success together.

A couple of weeks later (19 January)
we went to Manchester Championship
show where the judge was Mr Kari Jarvenen
from Finland.This time Dot
came fourth in Junior Bitch, and Fen
again won puppy bitch. A great
start to their show careers.

March 2011

at the last minute,
Harold Gay (Malsville) took over the entry f
rom the scheduled judge,

Cola also went on to win
the reserve BCC! Thanks to both Cola's
breeders Kate and Michaela Moon
(Alncroft kennels) as well as our judge.

Autumn 2009

Riplington Terriers have moved.
We have left Winchester, Hants and are now
based near Wisbech, Cambs. Due to the demands of
moving and settling into our new home, we
haven't attended many shows recently but
are looking forward to next year!

Cola's sister, Alncroft Everlong (Sally)
owned and bred by Kate Smith and Michaela Moon ,
won the RBCC at Bournemouth Championship Show
in August and has recently been confirmed as
Dog World's Joint Top Leader Parson Russell Terrier (Halfway Leaders) 2009! Congratulations to them.

Please see the Our Dogs
page for a photo and further info.

We are a small kennel situated near to Wisbech in Cambridgeshire.

We have been involved with Jack Russells and the Parson Russell Breed
for over thirty five years, with our interest beginning
even before the breed’s recognition with the Kennel Club.

Pre recognition our affix was Ripling and we enjoyed success showing
at Hunt Shows and also with the JRTCGB shows
with whom our dogs were registered.

Our terriers are carefully bred for three main attributes -
temperament, type and working ability.

Our dogs are all family pets, and any puppies
we rear are brought up within the family home.

It is very important to us that our puppies are
well socialised and healthy when leaving for their new homes.

After leaving for their new homes our dogs have accomplished
a number of roles including agility, PAT Dogs, staring in photoshoots
and adverts as well as of course show dogs and great family pets.

One of our dogs also regularly attends talks at schools and organisations
for children to help promote responsible dog ownership and safety with dogs.

As such, we are also members of
The Kennel Club’s Accredited Breeder Scheme.
This scheme promotes good breeding practice by setting
requirements that breeders must follow to encourage the
breeding of healthy well adjusted puppies.
To find out more about the scheme visit the Kennel Club's website.

We are also members of the Parson Russell Terrier Club
and have been so for many years.

We have been lucky enough to own some special terriers over the years -
in particular the foundation terriers of our present dogs,
Bullet of Ripling and Tarsia Plover of Ripling,
through to Ripling Hobby
(Winner of countless hunt championships and a great mother!)
and Ripling Revel (winner of Puppy of the Year in 1988)
and then the current day pair of Ch Riplington Sheep Shearer (Sadie)
and her daughter Riplington Royal Flush (Sophie),
....who won two Challenge Certificates.

Some of these terriers have been winners in the show ring,
others great brood bitches or stud dogs but most importantly
they have all have been great companions

If you are interested in buying a Parson Russell Terrier,
please do ensure you research the breed thoroughly.

Whilst they are fantastic companions in the right hands,
they can also be the exact opposite when bored and not well trained!
